THE NATIONAL LEGAL MEDICINE SERVICE OF ECUADOR LEADED THE INTERNATIONAL WEBINAR
“FORENSIC DNA AT THE SERVICE OF JUSTICE IN ECUADOR”
The event took place on Thursday, October 20, 2022, through the Zoom platform at 17:00 (Ecuador time) and 342 people were connected belonging to public institutions of Ecuador (prosecutors, experts, lawyers, anthropologists, judges, forensic doctors, pathologists, civil and police officers), Academy (students and teachers) of the Universidad Esp\u00edritu Santo, Universidad de Cuenca, Universidad Internacional del Ecuador, Universidad Ecotec, Universidad de los Hemisferios, IMF, Instituto Argos. International participants came from Mexico, Argentina and Colombia from the forensic services, corpse identification, forensic doctors, specialists in forensic medicine from the Prosecutor’s Office and the Police. <\/p>\n


The presentations were given by experts from Argentina, Guatemala and Ecuador. The objective was to establish the importance of forensic genetics as a vital role in criminal investigation and its application in the short, medium and long term through the creation of genetic fingerprint databases. <\/p>


As part of the organization of this important virtual event, the National Legal Medicine Service of Ecuador had the support and advice of Gordon Thomas Honeywell, through the campaign \u201cJusticia Forense \u2013 DNA Latin America\u201d and the endorsement of the Graduate School of Law of the Esp\u00edritu Santo University.<\/p>\n


Authorities from the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Ecuador, the Ministry of the Interior, the Secretariat of Human Rights, the Council of the Judiciary, the National Assembly, the National Police of Ecuador, Universities of Ecuador and the Ibero-American Network of Institutions of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences were invited, with the purpose of the recipients disseminating the information with the staff of the institutions they preside over or with those interested in the theme of the event.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
