The “Justicia Forense – DNA Latin America” team had the honor of visiting Ecuador again between September 26 and 28 for strategic meetings on DNA databases with justice authorities, laboratory chiefs and interest groups in the country. During a detailed program, progress was made in defining the criteria for the next Webinar called “Forensic DNA at the Service of Justice in Ecuador” to be held on October 20 and an in-person International Seminar in Quito on November 17 of this year. The objective of these events will be to open the space for public and governmental dialogue that Ecuador needs and to promote legislation that regulates the creation and use of criminal DNA profile databases. “Justicia Forense – DNA Latin America” is proud to provide technical support to Ecuador in the formulation of this national strategy to optimize the use of forensic sciences in the application of efficient and effective justice for victims.
