Technical roundtables, Quito- Ecuador

On August 16 and 17 of this year, a series of technical roundtables were held in the city of Quito within the framework of the “Justicia Forense – DNA Latin America” campaign.

The technical roundtables were led by ethe National Service of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, represented by its Director, Inspector General (SP) Doctor Milton Gustavo Zárate Barreiros, with the support of los expertos en investigación criminal Kevin Mills (Reino Unido) y Daniela Suárez(Colombia), ambos consultores de Gordon Thomas HoneywellAsuntos Gubernamentales (GTH-GA). 

Representatives of key institutions such as the Attorney General’s Office, the Ministry of the Interior and the Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science Department of the National Police participated in the meetings.

Bill of November 8, 2012: Download. The legislative proposal to create a DNA database in Bolivia began with the bill called the «Boliviano» Criminal Identification System (SIBIC), with the aim of applying biometric authentication and information technologies to register and determine the identity of criminals. This proposal was presented in the 2015-2016 legislature with number 0682015-16 and in the 2016-2017 legislature with number 028/201617.
